Welcome to the Unofficial Region 23 Website Go-Kan-Ryu Karate-do was started in the North Eastern Suburbs of Adelaide in January 1984 by Kancho Robert Sullivan, with the first official Dojo at Beefacres Hall, Windsor Gardens. By the mid 1990's, GKR Karate was practiced all over the Adelaide Metropolitan area, and in 1998 Region 9 was split in two, with Region 23 covering the Southern side of Adelaide. Today the Region has 42 Classes, including 11 specific "Kids Classes", held each week in 22 locations, spread from the South Western suburbs, the East through to Mt Barker and through the Southern suburbs to McLaren Vale. The current Region Manager is Sensei James Gray, seen below, with Australian Southern Zone Manager Sensei Mark Case on the left. |
