- Change of RM and BTS SeminarsSensei Joe has been offered an position with GKR in Melbourne and with the iminent arrival of his and Nina's first child, they have decided to accept it so they are closer to family. 18/12/2010: Region 23 Beach TrainingBeach Training Class in Region 23 is generally planned to be the final training session for the year – a chance for the whole region to enjoy training collectively, in one large outdoor dojo. 21/12/2010: Reynella East Halloween ClassSensei's usually plan their classes with care for their students, one class might feature kata, another kumite and yet another strengthen basics. However when a Sensei takes the time to plan and advertise a special type of karate class, you would expect that it would be a class with a difference. Mid Year Black Belt AssessmentA large group was in attendance for the mid year Assessment as not only was Sensei Mark Case attending, but also Shihan Stacey Karetsian and Sensei Gavin Samen. The grading followed a slightly different format to normal, with Sensei Gavin taking most of the students for partner work, while the Grading panel watched the Kata and Kumite of the Grading students. 29/06/2010: 2 Day SeminarA big 2 days for Region 9 students with the holding of the recent GKR World Wide Super Seminar and Grading. Three specialised training sessions were followed by an assessment, combined with the monthly Region Grading. Full details and photos here..... |

A lot is happening in Region 9 with the Easter/School Holiday period activities released. Activities include a Colouring in contest for Juniors, Bring a Friend, Kumite Seminar and Open Senior Class. In addition the Dernancourt Classes are relocating down the road and around the corner as from 30th March. Full details here..... |

Murray Bridge Class opensAn exciting time for Region 23 students in the Hills with a new class opening on Tuesday nights at Murray Bridge. In charge will be Sensei Darren Nathan. This is a new area for GKR Karate and opens up a new area. A number of new classes have also opened in Region 9, with several locations adding an extra class. Full details here ..... |

An end of an era at Modbury Dojo last Wednesday night, with the last GKR Karate Class in the old Gym. GKR classes have been held at this location for nearly 25 years and an attempt was made to beat the previous record of 49 Instructors and Students. Did they make it? The second Beach Training was held on a very pleasant morning at Semaphore South Beach. There have been a few more changes to Dojo locations and times. Dojo's effected are Ingle Farm and Birkenhead immediately and Modbury from beginning of March. See your Sensei for a new timetable. Full details and photo's here..... |

Region 9 Beach Training #2, Special Class, Training TimesThe recent Region 9 Special Class was well attended with around 50 students participating in the three sessions. Beach Training #2 information is now out, and classes are back to the normal times with a few minor changes. More information here..... |

Over 50 students and Instructors attended the Australia Day Open Senior Class, which was followed by a traditional BBQ. Sensei Daniel and Sensei Joe took the class, which focussed on Basics and Sparring. Whilst it was warm inside, it was very pleasant outside for the BBQ. Full details and Photos here..... |

Sensei DinnerA large number of Region 23 Sensei and Students attended their Beach Training at Port Noarlunga. As the weather was better, more time was spent in the water, always good fun.
