12/01/2012: Shihan ClassOnce again the Instructers of Region 9 and Region 23 benefitted from Shihan Stacy Karetsian spending a few weeks early in the New Year back home in Adelaide with family. It is an ideal opportunity for him to catch up with the locals and take a Combined Senior Class. It may have been only the second week back training, but around 50 Instructors, including over 30 Black Belts, from Region 9 and Region 23 attended the session at Secombe High School Gym.

SA State Team Tryouts 2012 Season An invitation is extended to all South Australian GKR students to attend the State Team Enrolment Days on Sunday 19th and 26th February at Adelaide High School, West Terrace, Adelaide, commencing at 6pm. Any GKR Student, regardless of age or grade can train with the team and enter Tournaments upon selection. More information here.....

Black Belt GradingsAs usual, there were 2 Black Belt asesessments in 2011 and in all one student graded to Nidan, 11 students moved on to Shodan and 10 students gained their Shodan-ho rank. For a brief report on each grading and plenty of photos, go here......

Team Presentation Dinner
Over 80 Team members and family members, along with a few
guests, attended the 2011 State Team Dinner in the function room of the Halfway
Hotel. This year more of the ladies dressed up for the occcassion, making it a
special night. Even some of the guys made the extra effort, certainly a change
from the all white outfits usually worn. Full

22/05/2011: Three Weddings and A BabyThe last 6 months has seen significant events occur that have effected the personal lives of several GKR identities in Adelaide in different ways. For three couples, it was the sealing of their love for each other, and for the fourth, it was the beginning of a new person in their lives. Congratulations to all couples. 09/12/2010: Black Belt GradingNazareth College Gymnasium was the venue for the end of year Black Belt Grading and Assessment. Around 60 Region 9 and Region 23 Instructors and students attended, with several students being assessed for Shodan-ho and Shodan grades. A full report and lots of photos are here .....

State Team Presentation DinnerHeld at the Halfway Hotel, 70 people attended the inaugural State Team Presentation Dinner on Saturday 20th November and it was a resounding success. presentations were made to several Team Supporters before the main awards to competitors and Coaches. Sensei Mark Case VisitAlways looked forward to, ZD Sensei Mark Case presided over a combined Senior Class at Blackfriar's Priory School on Thursday 18th March. A large class, which included the R9 STP students, were treated to yet another variation of partner work combined with basics, kata and kumite. Full details here....

GKR State Tournament, NAS Round 1March is Tournament Month with NAS Round 1 on Sunday 14th and GKR Round 1 on Sunday 28th. Entry forms for the GKR Tournament are now available from your Dojo Sensei. 12/01/2009: January is Marriage MonthA couple of engagements were announced late last year, but January has turned out to be Marriage Month with 3 Weddings already in the first two weeks. Black Belt GradingA much smaller grading than the mid year one, but perhaps even a bit harder. Sensei Mark, Sensei Joe and Sensei Daniel took the candidates through a gruelling 3 hour session, consisting of a lot of basics in stance, plenty of combos and kata. Sparring was of a high quality and both students grading did very well. Congratulations to Barbera Hessellschwerdt and David Weir for attaining their Shodan-ho grade.
