GKR South Australian Tournament Team National Championships 2007 Day 8 |
| Only today to go before the NAS Tournament and some headed off
to the City whilst for those who had been there all week, it was an
R&R day, getting ready for the weekend. It was either an early
morning start for those headed for the City or a late start with a
coffee and a chat enough for many. Off to pick up some cars around midday was excitement enough for some and the worry of returning without Daniel leading the way with his trusty GPS a concern. Daniel had forgotten his shoes on Wednesday night at Shihan's class and thus had left us to fend for ourselves as he went to collect them. We survived with Erik's Viking sense of direction leading the way. We also could read the signs, so that helped. It was a fortunate moment for Jeremy and Amber, as we turned into the road leading to the Park to see them about 50 metres ahead. Ray pulled over to give them a lift back, just as it started to rain. It then proceeded to bucket down, narrowly avoiding a second case of drowned rats. In NAS National's, everyone checks in the day before and it was
the first sight of Homebush for many. It is 7 years since the
Olympics but the place is still very inspiring, with all the venues
in the one place. With checking in completed, it was time for final
preparations at the Park, and the late afternoon rain had made it
impossible to train outside. Not to worry, as the Park Entertainment
Room was turned into a Dojo.
Jackie "I must control my kicks" Probert practiced control with Shaun Williams, while Jeremy, Daniel
and Alan worked on their Syncronised Kata and Bunkai application in
the cramped confines. |
