National Championships 2007

Day 4

Sunny, but cloudy was the weather that greeted the early risers. One group was off early to the city for sight seeing while the remainder decided to have a quiet day at the Park.

The group that went into the City, decided to go on a Jet Boat cruise of the harbour, with its spectacular views. It was very exhilarating and the speed sometimes made it hard to see. Apparently the only way they knew where they were going was by seeing which way Alan's hair was blowing.

Some went Food Shopping, others pottered around the Park, and a few different groups went for a walk around the Park Trails. A group of four "senior" members set out on the riverside trail and discovered that the Viking heritage of Erik "the unsteady" Juhl made for their own David Attenborough as he spotted numerous examples of the local fauna. The walking trail along the river led to some quite beautiful spots and was very relaxing. New development at the entrance to the Park is still being worked on but looks to be in harmony with the environs. The return trip was upon the all purpose road - you could hear the cars going past and the occasional house through the trees but at the same time seemed so far away from everything, all about 10kms from the heart of Sydney.

Following Tea, a group attended the local Lane Cove Dojo for a training session. The look upon the B&W Sensei was apparently worth looking at as the group of 15 walked in. Apparently he became further "excited" as five of the group put on their Black Belts. It was a traditional "Red Book" class, followed to the letter. It did provide some interesting conversation upon the group's return to the Park.
