14/02/2011: GKR SA State Team Tryouts 2011 Season Last year's squad members are now back in training after a most successful 2010 season, in which Squad members won 7 GKR, 4 NAS and 2 JKF Australian Champion Titles. As well, squad members picked up 11 GKR, 6 NAS and 2 JKF minor places. Team members also had the opportunity to enter AKF and other outside Tournaments, also picking up several first place and minor medals. The highlight for the year was 4 SA squad members being selected in the JKF team that represented Australia in Takamatsu, Japan in late July 2010. Eight other SA squad members joined the 70 squad members from all around Australia that visited the Tournament and trained for two days in Japan. An invitation is extended to all South Australian GKR students to attend the State Team Enrolment Days on Sunday 6th and 13th March at Adelaide High School, West Terrace, Adelaide, commencing at 6pm. Please arrive at 05:30pm. There is a standard $10 Training Fee for all students, Pre-paid Training is not applicable for State Team Training. The State Team will once again be coached by Sensei Jeremy Thompson, assisted by Sensei Shane Bennett and other high ranking and very experienced Black Belts. Any GKR Student, regardless of age or grade can train with the team and enter Tournaments upon selection. If you are passionate about your Karate, have a desire to reach your absolute potential and have an interest in competing against other Martial Arts styles, then make sure you attend these sessions.
