A lot is happening in Region 9 in April, with the Easter/School Holiday period activities released. Activities include a Colouring-In contest for Juniors, Bring a Friend, Kumite Seminar and Open Senior Class.

1: The Easter Colouring-In contest for 5 - 12 years of age students has some great prizes, including free training, a World Cup DVD and a GKR Cap. The competition starts on April 1st and closes on 18th April, with the winning Entries and prize allocations announced at the April Grading.

2: Bring A Friend will run for the period of 1-18th April. This is a great opportunity for family and friends to try out GKR Karate. Prizes will be awarded for the person who can recommend the most people. Prizes include One Month's Unlimited FREE Training, GKR Polo Shirt and World Cup DVD.

3: Open Senior Class - all students will be able to attend Senior Class for the period 1-18th April. Don't miss out on an opportunity to train with your Instructors. Senior Class is held on Tuesday and Thursday nights, from 7.30 - 9.00pm, at Para Hills High School, Beafield Rd., Para Hills.

4: Kumite Seminar - Want to increase your confidence in Kumite and at the same time elevate your Karate to the next level? Then the Super Seminar on Thursday 8th April is not to be missed. Held at Para Hills High School, there will be three sessions.

  *   6.00 - 7.00pm Foot Drills, learn how to move in and out from your opponent, circle around and ringcraft.
  *   7.15 - 8.15pm Self Defence Drills, learn the relationship between Dojo Sparring and real life self defence.
  *   8.30 - 9.30pm Kumite, a great chance to put into practise the new skills you have learnt but in a safe environment.

Note: PTF not included. Training Fee $9.00 per session or $15.00 for all three sessions.

5: April Grading - the Grading will be on Sunday 18th April from 2.30 - 4.00pm.

From Tuesday 30th March, the Dernancourt Classes are relocating to a new venue at Kildare College, 96 Valiant Rd., Holden Hill. Literally down the road and around the corner, the venue will provide better facilities for all students. Tuesday class times have changed slightly, with the early class now running from 5.45 - 6.45pm, with the late class still from 7.00 - 8.30pm. A new Sunday morning class has been introduced from 9.00 - 10.00am. The Friday night times are unchanged.
